## Connect your AI app

### Claude

Works in Claude on the web, desktop and mobile, and in Claude Code.

#### Claude (web, desktop and mobile)

1. In Claude, open Settings, then Connectors.
2. Choose Add custom connector, name it Contentio and paste the connector address.
3. Choose Connect. Sign in with your Contentio account and choose Approve.
4. In a chat, ask Claude to use Contentio, for example "What do I have scheduled next week?"

#### Claude Code

1. Run the command below in your terminal.
2. Start Claude Code, type /mcp, pick contentio and sign in. Sign in with your Contentio account and choose Approve.

```
claude mcp add --transport http contentio https://contentio.io/api/mcp
```

### ChatGPT

Works through ChatGPT developer mode, where you can add an app by its address.

#### ChatGPT on the web

1. In ChatGPT settings, turn on Developer mode.
2. Open Plugins (called Connectors in some accounts) and create a new app.
3. Name it Contentio, paste the connector address and choose OAuth for authentication.
4. Choose Create. Sign in with your Contentio account and choose Approve.
5. In a new chat, open the + menu, choose Developer mode and turn on Contentio.

Which ChatGPT plans can add apps this way changes often, and on business workspaces an admin may need to allow it first. If you do not see Developer mode, check with your workspace admin.

### Gemini

Works in the Gemini app where custom apps are available, and in Gemini CLI.

#### Gemini app

1. In Gemini, open Settings & help, then Connected Apps.
2. Under custom apps, choose Add a custom app and paste the connector address.
3. Connect it. Sign in with your Contentio account and choose Approve.

#### Gemini CLI

1. Run the command below in your terminal.
2. Start Gemini CLI and run /mcp auth contentio. Sign in with your Contentio account and choose Approve.

```
gemini mcp add --transport http contentio https://contentio.io/api/mcp
```

Google only shows custom apps in the Gemini app for some personal accounts, and Gemini Enterprise connections are set up by an admin. Gemini CLI works for everyone.

### Qwen

Works in Qwen Code, and in Qwen apps that offer an MCP option.

#### Qwen Code

1. Run the command below in your terminal.
2. Start Qwen Code, type /mcp, pick contentio and sign in. Sign in with your Contentio account and choose Approve.

```
qwen mcp add --transport http contentio https://contentio.io/api/mcp
```

#### Qwen desktop app

1. If your Qwen app shows an MCP or custom tools option in the chat window, add a new server there.
2. Paste the connector address and connect. Sign in with your Contentio account and choose Approve.

Qwen Chat on the web does not offer custom MCP servers yet. Use Qwen Code or the desktop app.

### Other apps

Any app that supports remote MCP servers with sign-in can use Contentio.

#### Any MCP app

1. Find the place to add an MCP server (often called connectors, tools, integrations or MCP servers).
2. Choose a remote or HTTP server and paste the connector address. No API key is needed.
3. Connect it. Sign in with your Contentio account and choose Approve.

#### Cursor

1. Add this to your Cursor MCP settings (mcp.json), then sign in when Cursor asks.

```
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "contentio": { "url": "https://contentio.io/api/mcp" }
  }
}
```

#### VS Code

1. Add this to .vscode/mcp.json, then start the server and sign in when VS Code asks.

```
{
  "servers": {
    "contentio": { "type": "http", "url": "https://contentio.io/api/mcp" }
  }
}
```

## What you can ask

- **Write**: "Draft three LinkedIn posts about our pricing change, in my voice." "Turn my last LinkedIn post into an X thread."
- **Plan**: "What do I have scheduled next week?" "Schedule the hiring post for Thursday at 9am."
- **Learn**: "How did my posts do in September?" "Which content pillars am I neglecting?"

## Built to keep your account safe

- **It acts as you, and only you**: Your AI app works inside your own Contentio account, with the same access you have. It can never see anyone else's content.
- **It asks before anything goes public**: Publishing, scheduling and deleting are marked as actions that need your OK, and your AI app asks you before running them.
- **Your plan and credits apply**: Generating posts uses your normal Contentio AI credits and plan limits. Nothing is billed separately.
- **Disconnect anytime**: See every connected app in Settings > Connections and disconnect it with one click. It loses access right away.

## Questions

### What is the Contentio MCP server?

It connects Contentio to AI apps through the Model Context Protocol (MCP), an open standard. Once connected, your AI app can search your content, draft and schedule posts, and read your analytics inside your Contentio account. The connector address is https://contentio.io/api/mcp.

### Which AI apps work with Contentio?

Any app that supports remote MCP servers with sign-in, including Claude, ChatGPT developer mode, Gemini, Gemini CLI, Qwen Code, Cursor and VS Code.

### Which Contentio plans include it?

All paid plans: Plus, Premium and Creator. You can connect while choosing a plan, and your AI app can use Contentio once your plan is active.

### Does it cost extra?

No. Reading your content is free, and generating posts uses the same AI credits as generating them in Contentio.

### Can my AI app post without asking me?

Publishing, scheduling and deleting are marked as actions that need your approval, and your AI app asks you before running them. Every action is recorded in your account.

### Do I need an API key?

No. You sign in with your Contentio account and approve the app, the same way you would sign in with Google.

### How do I disconnect an app?

Open Settings > Connections in Contentio and choose Disconnect next to the app. It loses access immediately.
